Beth, myself and her mom took a little trip a couple of days ago to our local aquarium. We have year-round passes there, and visit probably about 5 to 10 times a year. So we were enjoying the new stuff, shark petting, etc., when we found out that we could get our pictures taken with penguins. This just seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up, so Beth, her mom and I went, paid a little bit of money, and got to pet 3 South African black-footed penguins. They were extremely cute and we were enjoying ourselves until...they turned. They attacked Beth's shoes, untying them so that she couldn't escape. They then proceeded to gnaw on the hem of her skirt (maybe out of frustration that they were too short to do any serious damage), and would waddle in and out of our legs, perhaps sizing up how to best dispatch of us. One was almost successful in the aiming of his poo at my shoe that was paying him no attention.
After about 15 to 20 minutes of nightmarish actions by these felonious fowls, the three of us were able to escape with our lives, but just barely. We vowed never again to enter..."The Tuxedo Zone". I was able to get some photos of these dealers of destruction...
Here is the beginning...
They were distracted by the light...at first...

Then...he spotted me. I get chills seeing it again.

They are attacking the hem... no one there to stop them...

We're trying to fight them off, but they're very stubborn...

Okay. Maybe we did enjoy it, but it could have been dangerous.
The point is, penguins could be evil, but who cares? They are cute. They could rise up and take over the world, and nobody would care, because they are just adorable. They were as friendly as could be. I'm glad we visited, "The Tuxedo Zone"!

Did any of the penguins' names happen to be Nigel?
Penguins can do some strange things, you know.
