Totalled

Not quite the word that people long to hear, and for the first time in my life, those words were meant for Beth and me. In case you hadn't heard, we were involved in a car accident on I-65 just north of Lebanon, IN. No one was hurt, except for the poor car. Although it was drivable, the passenger side doors were hit pretty badly. Badly enough, in fact, to require both of them to be replaced. Geico, who has been tremendous, quickly announced that it was a total loss. Bad thing is, we still owed money on that wretched thing. In short, after the value of the car, the deductible taken out, what we still owe on it, etc., we will end up with a check for a whopping 1,400. Sigh. That isn't much of a down payment, much less a new car. So, our lives have taken a little bump in the road (pun intended, but not necessarily a funny one), but I'm keeping out hope that things will work out okay. Hmmm...I wonder how long it will take for me to walk to work...
